Finland supports reforms in Ukraine for EU accession and will prepare the first part of its plan for Ukraine's recovery.

Ukraine’s recovery should take place simultaneously with the reforms being made while on the way to the EU, which Finland is ready to support, said the Minister of Foreign Trade and Development of Finland, Ville Tavio.

“We are impressed by Ukraine’s efforts so far, given the challenging circumstances. Finland is currently considering the European Commission’s enlargement package, including Ukraine’s report,” Tavio said.

In addition, according to him, Finland is preparing to participate in Ukraine’s reconstruction, and the plan to do so consists of two parts. The first part will be prepared by the end of the year, focusing on how the Finnish private sector can participate in the reconstruction of Ukraine. The second part will look at Finnish support in a broader context, including cooperation in development.

In addition, as Tavio said, Finland supports the seizure of frozen Russian assets and the repurposing of income from them to support Ukraine.
