Estonia seeks to adapt its military industry to Ukraine's needs.

Estonia intends to restructure its military aid to Ukraine so that it is dominated by products from its domestic enterprises to provide support for the Estonian military industry, the country’s Defense Minister, Hanno Pevkur, said.

In 2024, Estonia transferred €100M in military aid to Ukraine, about 0.25% of the country’s GDP. According to the Minister of Defense, Estonia’s industrial complex can produce more than €100M of products per year, and their range is both wide and in demand.

“We have given Ukraine information about our capabilities, and now we are trying to find a reasonable compromise that considers their priorities and our production capabilities. Production should also be ramped up quickly if some specific products are needed,” Pevkur said.

He noted that after receiving the list of Ukraine’s priority products, Estonia can organize state tenders in which all the country’s enterprises producing relevant products will participate.
