Ukraine should prioritize the development of green energy to attract investment.

Energy independence through solar power plants: Businesses across various industries are investing in green energy.

A 200 kW solar power plant installed by furniture manufacturer Pavlyk M from Transcarpathia has saved €19,400 in just three and a half months of operation. The factory, which exports products to over 15 countries, consumes about 300 kW per hour, with 200 kW of that supplied by the solar power plant on sunny days. To install the system, the company invested ₴2M obtained on credit and approximately ₴900,000 of its own funds. The main goal was to reduce production costs rather than ensure uninterrupted power.

Meanwhile, in the first half of 2025 the OKKO network launched rooftop solar power plants at 40 more gas stations and on the buildings of its motor transport enterprise. As a result, 244 gas stations in the network now partially supply their electricity needs through solar energy, with a total capacity of 5.9 MW. The company plans to continue expanding solar electrification at its filling stations, with about 100 more OKKO complexes potentially receiving rooftop solar systems in the coming years. In 2025 alone, the network will invest ₴30M, including VAT, into this project. One solar power plant can supply between 15% and 55% of a filling station’s daily energy needs during peak generation periods.
