While attention is understandably focused on the imminent Biden-Zelensky summit, noteworthy things have been happening in Ukraine. The Ukrainian President has enacted a decision to break the hold of oligarchs and monopolists in the energy sector, most notably that of fugitive tycoon Dmytro Firtash. Although an attempt to privatize a giant plant owned by Firtash will have to be repeated because it was done too hastily, Zelensky will be able to argue that his attempts to rein in corruption are serious and deserve recognition.
