Economic recovery: Ukraine will receive a €200M grant from France and €50M from the EU to develop port infrastructure.
The Cabinet of Ministers has submitted to the Ukrainian Parliament an agreement between Ukraine and France that will provide €200M in grant funds for the restoration of Ukraine’s infrastructure and economy, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said.
In addition, the government will be allowed to redistribute resources and receive an additional €50M from the EU for the repair and development of port infrastructure. Shmyhal noted that the Ukrainian maritime corridor’s operation is key in Ukrainian logistics. According to him, for 11 months cargo turnover in the ports of Odesa amounted to 60 million tons. Almost 41 million tons of this amount is exported food.
The head of the government emphasized that this became possible thanks to the success of the Defense Forces in the Black Sea, export support programs, and war risk insurance.
