In June 2022, the European Union announced the allocation of €20M to Ukrainian startups affected by the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The initiative aims to support 200 Ukrainian technology startups with grants of up to €60,000. This also includes non-financial support.
More than a year has passed, and the European Commission has not yet selected startups, let alone started funding. As it turns out, the little progress has been made since the announcement.
“So far, there is no confirmed date when the first startups will be selected and financed,” said a representative of the European Commission. The process has stalled at the stage of approving organizations that would distribute grant funds in Ukraine.
