The coming months and weeks will be decisive in determining the course of Russia’s war against Ukraine, according to the head of the US Pentagon, Lloyd Austin. At the opening of the 22nd Ukraine Defense Contact Group in the Ramstein format, he stated that the Ukrainian struggle for freedom and security is also important for the rest of the world.
“If Putin wins, the tyrants will come to the conclusion that they can also try to invade and conquer their sovereign neighbors,” the head of the Pentagon noted.
Austin gave his assurance that Ukraine’s allies will continue to provide the nation with the support it needs and emphasized that the US, as before, “is determined to do its part.” He noted that, thanks to the funding approved by Congress, the US will provide significant security assistance packages to Ukraine, which “will change the situation in this struggle”.
“We have already provided Ukraine with many of its priority needs, and even more aid is on the way,” said the US secretary of defense.
