Due to the lack of freight permits, the Ukrainian Economy has lost €500 mln since 2018.

In the last 5 years, Ukraine has increased trade with the EU by 40%, reorienting its exports to other markets. According to Deputy Minister of Infrastructure, Mustafa Nayem, Ukrainian carriers started receiving fewer and fewer permits from Ukraine’s neighboring countries. In 2022, Poland will provide Ukraine with 160,000 permits while 204,500 are required, Hungary 31,700 thousand (45,000 required), and Romania 18.\,500 (51,600) required. Nayem stressed that at the same time, Germany increased the permit quota by 15% and Belgium by 30%. He noted that Ukraine should use the EU Association Agreement to solve this problem.
