Despite the border blockade, Poland remains Ukraine’s largest export partner.

In January 2024, Ukraine exported the most goods to Poland ($334M), despite Polish farmers blocking the border. According to customs data, January’s top three export partners also included Spain ($322M) and China ($305M).

In total, Ukraine exported goods worth $3.4B in January. The main items of export are food products ($2.2B), metal products ($362M), and mineral products ($312M).

At the same time, Ukraine imported goods worth $5.1B in January, mainly from China ($1.1B), Poland ($568M) and Germany ($388M). Ukraine’s turnover in January amounted to $8.5B, 7% more than in January 2023.

However, the State Statistics Service reported that last year Ukraine exported goods worth $36.1B (-18 % compared to 2022), and imports increased by 14.9% to $63.5B. The negative trade balance amounted to $27.3B, and turnover for the year amounted to $99.8B.
