The head of the Ministry of Defense, Rustem Umerov, announced that Denmark will invest in the production of weapons in Ukraine during a meeting of the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine in the Ramstein format. During a meeting with the Minister of Defense of Denmark, Troels Lund Poulsen, the parties signed a memorandum for the purchase of weapons and equipment from Ukrainian manufacturers. As Umerov added, the importance of the new financing scheme is that the parties agreed on the financing procedure, which will hasten the procurement process.
At the same time, a letter of intent to create a mechanism that will provide financial support for Ukrainian arms manufacturers was signed with the Minister of Defense of the Netherlands, Kajsa Ollongren. This should strengthen the Ukrainian defense industry’s production potential and ensure the supply of the most effective weapons to Ukraine’s military.
The Netherlands has allocated €60M to purchase drones for Ukraine, of which €17.5M will be used to purchase Ukrainian-made maritime drones.
