This meeting was announced by President Zelenskyy on April 21, following a conversation with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Special Envoys Steve Witkoff and Keith Kellogg will represent the US at the talks. These discussions will continue from previous meetings that occurred on April 18 in Paris, attended by President Emmanuel Macron.
The Ukrainian delegation will include Head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak, Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov, Minister of Foreign Affairs Andriy Sybiha, and Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Pavlo Palis. France and the UK will be represented by their foreign ministers and national security advisors.
Kellogg indicated that a comprehensive ceasefire encompasses halting actions on land, in the air, and at sea, including a moratorium on shelling energy facilities. This ceasefire will last at least 30 days, after which a long-term peace agreement must be reached.
Zelenskyy emphasized: “We are open to constructive dialogue and seek to achieve an unconditional cessation of hostilities, which will be a step toward sustainable peace.”
