The UK government will provide financial guarantees for the EBRD loan, which Ukrenergo will use to ensure the company’s stable operation in wartime, stated British Minister of Finance Rishi Sunak during the G7 meeting. Due to this support, electricity transmission system operator Ukrenergo will be able to spend €97M in funds raised by the EBRD to support liquidity. It is noted that this is the second such tranche of European emergency aid for the Ukrainian transmission system operator. The European Union has already provided the first part of the €50M guarantee under this loan.
