Britain places sanctions against five Russian banks and three businesspeople.

On Tuesday, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced the imposition of sanctions against Russia after its recognition of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics. The sanctions will affect  Rossiya bank, IS Bank, General Bank, Promsvyazbank, and the Black Sea Bank. In addition, British sanctions will affect three Russian businessmen – Gennady Timchenko, and Boris and Igor Rotenberg.
