A press release from the International Fund shows the purchase of weapons for Ukraine dated May 2, in which Great Britain’s Ministry of Defense expressed interest in providing ammunition capable of striking at a range of up to 300 kilometers. As WP reports, this weapon corresponds to the characteristics of the Storm Shadow air-based cruise missiles. Storm Shadows can be installed on Soviet-made Ukrainian jets and reach Russian territory.
According to Ukraine, rockets with a longer range can change the course of the war. With these weapons, Ukraine’s defense forces will be able to strike Russian command centers, supply lines, ammunition, and fuel depots deep in Crimea and the territory occupied by the Russian Federation. Strikes far behind the front line will also clear the way for a ground offensive by Ukrainian troops.
At the same time, Ukraine promises not to use allied weapons for attacks deep into Russia.
