The High Representative of the EU for Foreign and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, sent a letter to the defense ministers from the EU member states with a request to provide the ammunition they have to Ukraine. Borrell also asked that ammunition contracts that have already concluded with the industry be taken into consideration. The top EU diplomat announced this in Brussels at a press conference after a tripartite meeting with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba. According to Borrell, under the current situation time is measured “in weeks, not months.” The senior EU representative added “The first thing we have to do is to use what we have, the second is to have more, and the third is to increase production capabilities.”
