Belarus is prepared to allow the transit of Ukrainian grain through its territory for export from Lithuanian ports without preconditions, said UN Secretary-General Stefan Dujarric after meeting with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Yuriy Ambrazevych. However, Ambrazevic also repeated his government’s request for the possibility of exporting its fertilizers, which are currently subject to sanctions. Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda called Belarus’ grain transit proposal a “trap”. According to Nauseda, Belarus is trying to avoid sanctions with this proposal. “Ukrainian grain is already traveling through Poland and other countries to the Baltic ports. This is a trap. Let’s not fall into it,” he claims.
