Belarus introduced a ban on rail transit of oil and chemical products, including fertilizers, loaded at Lithuanian Railways stations beginning on February 7, stated a spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Anatoly Glaz. Belarus says the decision was made in response to Lithuania’s ban on the transit of Belarusian goods through the country’s ports. The territory of Belarus transports approximately1.5 to 1.6 million tons of such cargo, worth more than $1B, annually.
