The Cabinet of Ministers approved the creation of an FAO Project Office, which will work toward the provision of technical and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine, the Ministry of Economy reported. This applies to agricultural producer support programs and the supply of humanitarian aid. In the future, cooperation with the agency will contribute to Ukrainian export growth and create an export-oriented economy with high added value. Since the beginning of the war, the FAO has updated the Quick Response Plan in Ukraine. As of mid-August, the FAO provided emergency agricultural aid (seeds, money) to 80,000 people in 13 regions of Ukraine. In addition, the FAO, together with the Government of Ukraine, is implementing projects to restore grain storage facilities. They are providing the supply of grain loading and unloading equipment, modular storage containers, etc., to Ukrainian farmers in 10 regions of Ukraine. The FAO plans to attract $180.4M for these programs.
