The Antimonopoly Committee has started consideration of the proposed acquisition by the Irish group CRH plc of two cement plants in Ukraine – Volyn-Cement (Zdolbuniv) and Pivdencement (Olshanske), the committee’s website says.

It is reported that CRH Ukraine B.V. wants to purchase shares of the company Dyckerhoff Cement Ukraine and shares in the authorized capital of the limited liability company, Dyckerhoff/Ukraine/, with foreign investments, which would ensure a majority in votes by the highest management body of each company.

CRH is one of the largest companies in Ireland, and it already has three factories in Ukraine: Kamianets-Podilskyi, Odesa, and Mykolaiv. Now, it plans to buy two enterprises that, through Dyckerhoff, are part of the Italian corporation Buzzi SpA.

In June, Buzzi announced that it had decided to sell its assets in Ukraine and Slovakia to CRH for €100M. The deal is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to be finalized in 2024.
