Treeden Group has opened the first line of the cargo railway terminal located almost 200 km deep in Poland, said Oleksandr Lanetskyi, director of UAB Friendly Avia Support.
“This allows us to connect to the railway system of Ukraine with Western European and Polish, German, and Baltic ports,” he explained. According to him, the terminal can simultaneously accept three full trains for unloading and loading, and the automated unloading and loading system will speed operations by three to five times compared to traditional platforms nearby.
It is reported that the terminal is equipped with an elevator for five silos of 4,000 tons each, a 4,500 square meter automated floor-storage warehouse for bulk cargo, and an open area for storing sea containers. Lanetsky noted that the terminal will operate as a customs warehouse and will be able to accept grain, building materials, fertilizers, and other cargoes.
