Almost half of the Ukrainian refugees in Germany do not plan to return home.

About 10% of Ukrainian refugees will remain abroad after the war.

Refugees with a pet small dog from Mariupol are flees to Europe at the Lviv Railway Station.

Of the more than one million Ukrainian refugees who came to Germany to escape the war, 44% hope to stay there, German researchers reported. Last year, 39% of surveyed Ukrainian immigrants declared these plans.

18% of respondents have a job; at the end of summer 2022, 17% were employed. The increase was facilitated by high participation in integration and language courses. Three-quarters of Ukrainian refugees attend or have already completed German language courses.

These numbers also reflect the fact that it is more difficult for women with children to find work, and half of the female Ukrainian refugees have at least one child. Thus, only 3% of women with young children work, while 23% of men with young children work, as they usually arrive in the country with a partner.
