All of Ukraine’s reactors are of Soviet design and 12 were built during the Soviet era, in the 1980s.

Herman Galushchenko, Ukraine’s new Energy Minister, said: “Ukraine is interested in deepening cooperation with Westinghouse, as diversification of nuclear fuel supply is a guarantee of energy security.”
