Ukraine and Russia will continue to transport fuel despite the fighting in the Kursk region.

A Ukrainian company, for the first time, has transported biomethane using the domestic gas transmission system and has plans to export.

The VITAGRO group of companies, with assets in the agricultural, energy, processing, construction, and chemical industries, supplied biomethane into Ukraine’s gas transportation system, which will start the export of Ukrainian biomethane.

“This is the first and only such event in Ukraine’s entire energy industry,” the company emphasized.

It is noted that the €6M biomethane plant is currently operating at 60-70% of its planned capacity, and the daily volume of gas entering the gas distribution network is approximately 6,000 cubic meters. The plant can reach its full capacity by the end of October.

VITAGRO is currently working on establishing the export of biomethane. The company already has all the necessary permits, and as soon as it accumulates sufficient volumes in storage, it will begin selling biomethane to foreign buyers, possibly in November. According to various estimates, this year Ukraine may reach an annual production and export volume of 80-100 million cubic meters of biogas.
