French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer will host a summit with other European leaders with the goal of strengthening Ukraine’s defense during the French leader’s visit to London this week. Kyiv’s allies will meet on July 10 in a video conference. In addition to Macron and Starmer, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and other European leaders are expected to join, including German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
The meeting will focus on supporting Kyiv’s military capability, deploying “support forces” in Ukraine following a ceasefire, and increasing pressure on Russia to accept an unconditional ceasefire, which Moscow has refused.
Many leading experts noted that Moscow has intensified attacks on Ukraine recently, as US support for Kyiv seems to have weakened during Donald Trump’s presidency, giving a green light to the aggressor to continue destroying Ukraine without suffering any consequences.
