US President Joe Biden is considering asking Congress for additional funding that would combine money for defense assistance to Israel and Ukraine, border security, and aid to countries in the Indo-Pacific region, including Taiwan, Bloomberg writes.

It is noted that with such a comprehensive request, the US administration could use the broad bipartisan support of Israel against the backdrop of the Hamas attack to facilitate the approval of aid for Ukraine to continue confronting the Russian Federation.

At the same time, the publication suggests that the size of the package is likely to meet resistance in the House of Representatives. It is noted that the primary candidate for the new speaker position after Kevin McCarthy’s resignation, Jim Jordan, is skeptical about further support for Ukraine. However, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer expects a request from the Biden administration by the end of the week.
